Focus Group Discussion “Application of AI in Education” with Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture

In 20 August 2019, The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture held a focus group discussion (FGD) themed “Application of AI in Education.” Invited to the FGD were Prof. Ir. Dwi Hendratmo Widyantoro, M.Sc., Ph.D. from STEI-ITB, Dr. Bens Pardamean from NVIDIA – BINUS AI R&D Center, Yunita Sari, S.Kom, M.Sc., Ph.D. from UGM, Ibrahim Arief, M.CIMET. from BukaLapak, and Ir. Meidy Fitranto from Nodeflux. This FGD aims to integrate AI in the future curriculum of Indonesian primary and secondary schools.

In the session, Dr. Bens Pardamean shared about the importance of character building for students to face the Industry 4.0, especially for collaborative attitude. He emphasized that the collaborative attitude will enable student to cope with the fast changing of AI industry. He also shared examples of curriculum in China that are already integrated with AI.
