(Event Coverage) NVIDIA DLI Ambassador Workshop, November 2nd, 2017, Satya Wacana Christian University
In November 2nd, 2017, NVIDIA – BINUS AI R&D Center held a full-day Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Ambassador Workshop in collaboration with Satya Wacana Christian University. This workshop was held to enhance the knowledge and skill of Deep Learning for academics and student in Central Java, Indonesia. Dr. Dharmaputra Taludangga Palekahelu, Dean of Information Technology Faculty, Satya Wacana Christian University, gave a welcoming speech to open this workshop. The next session was an opening speech delivered by Dr. Bens Pardamean, Head of Binus Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center (BDSRC). In his speech, he elaborated the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) nowadays.
This workshop began with a presentation from NVIDIA DLI Certified Instructor, Arif Budiarto, S.Kom, M.Sc. The topic of this presentation was Deep Learning Demystified, which disclosed the history and working behavior of Deep Learning. After that, Arif guided the attendees for a self-paced lab in Image Classification with DIGITS. This lab teached the attendees how to create Deep Learning model for image classification using DIGITS, a deep learning development system from NVIDIA.
In the next session, another NVIDIA DLI Certified Instructor, Wawan Cenggoro S.Kom, M.TI, conducted a hands-on in Object Detection with DIGITS. This hands-on enhanced the skills of attendees in using DIGITS for object detection problem. Lastly, Wawan conducted another hands-on for Deep Learning model development using TensorRT, a deployment library built by NVIDIA. This workshop was then closed by speech from Hindriyanto Dwi Purnomo, Ph.D., Vice Dean of Information Technology Faculty, Satya Wacana Christian University, in which he suggested to utilize this workshop to ignite a broader collaboration in AI research.
