Lembang, West Java — 2026 — The Food Biotechnology Research Center (FBRC), BINUS University, together with Mr. Hendy Risdianto Wijaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from Research and Technology Transfer (RTT), conducted a field visit to the rodent tuber (Typhonium flagelliforme) cultivation site in Lembang, West Java, as part of efforts to strengthen the cultivation and raw material supply chain supporting the commercialization of Tyherbs.

The cultivation site covers approximately 500 m² and is supported by Mr. Dandang, who assists with the management and maintenance of the land. During the visit, the FBRC and RTT teams reviewed the condition of the cultivation area and discussed its potential to serve as a sustainable source of planting materials for future production.

The rodent tuber seedlings cultivated at the site are intended to support the production of Tyherbs, a herbal supplement developed from rodent tuber. Tyherbs received its POM TR registration as a herbal medicine in August 2026, representing an important milestone in the transition of FBRC’s research outcomes toward commercialization.

With the development of the Lembang cultivation site, the team aims to establish a reliable supply of rodent tuber planting materials and tubers to support the continuity and scalability of Tyherbs production. In the long term, the site is expected to contribute to a more sustainable supply chain for the production of rodent tuber-based herbal supplements.

The visit reflects the ongoing efforts of FBRC and RTT Tech Transfer to bridge research, cultivation, and commercialization. By strengthening the upstream supply of plant materials, FBRC aims to support the sustainable development and commercial production of Tyherbs while advancing the utilization of Indonesia’s plant-based resources.
