The Research Interest Group (RIG) D-Lab held a Brown Bag Series session focused on translating research outputs into tangible societal impact. The event served as a platform for knowledge sharing, innovation discussion, and collaboration between researchers and stakeholders.
The session featured Professor Nesti Sianipar as the invited speaker, who shared insights on intellectual property development and commercialization opportunities arising from applied research. The discussion highlighted the patent development of PVT rodent tuber (Typhonium flagelliforme) and torpedo banana innovations.
During the session, Prof. Sianipar presented the application of rodent tuber as a formulation for functional beverages and dietary supplement capsules, emphasizing its potential contribution to the health and wellness sector. In addition, the discussion explored the future potential of torpedo banana as a source of further functional food patents and innovative food-based products.
