The Center applies information technology (IT) to uncover meaning from extracting biological sciences data, especially in the development and advancement of databases, computational and statistical methods, algorithms, and theory to solve practical problems arising from the management and analysis of data.

Bioinformatics :

• the application of information technology (IT) to the field of biological sciences;
• the development and advancement of databases, computational and statistical methods, algorithms, and theory to solve practical problems arising from the management and analysis of biological sciences data.

Data Science :

• the application of information technology (IT) for extracting meaning from data and creating data products;
• applicability of computer algorithms to uncover patterns from data and develop usable predictive models
