Research Collaboration and Community Development with Kalurahan Giripeni

On 21st October 2025, BINUS University establishes a three-year research collaboration and community development with Kalurahan Giripeni, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. It focuses on integrated and precision agriculture. In the memorandum of agreement (MoA) signing, BINUS University is represented by Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, Vice Rector of Research and Technology Transfer. Iswanto Adi Saputro, S.E., as the Village Chief of Kalurahan Giripeni, represents Kalurahan Giripeni. During the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean as the Head of BDSRC represents Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham. Afterwards, Iswanto Adi Saputro, S.E. expresses his hope for Giripeni to become an agrotourism village through the development of the Lumbung Mataraman smart agrotourism site. He also appreciates BINUS Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center (BDSRC) efforts in realizing this collaboration, since it empowers the human resources of Kalurahan Giripeni in fulfilling the Lumbung Mataraman integrated farm. Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean agrees with the Village Chief, emphasizing the importance of this collaboration to achieve the goal. Representatives from the Kulon Progo Agriculture District Office and the Kalurahan Giripeni Community Development Office also attend this event. They highlight their aspiration for Kalurahan Giripeni to be an economic hub with the implementation of agrotourism technology. Through this collaboration, BINUS University has dedicated itself to fostering innovation and community empowerment through research and technology-driven development.
