Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean Honored with the Sarwono Award 2024: A Memorable Day

August 23rd, 2024 emerges as a memorable day for BDSRC, as the Head of BDSRC, Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, honored with the Sarwono Award 2024 by Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) and Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP). The award is presented at the Sumitro Djojohadikusumo Auditorium, B.J. Habibie Building, BRIN Headquarters in Central Jakarta. The prestigious Sarwono Award 2024 received by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean is a lifetime achievement for the high-impact research that he has been conducting for over forty years, especially in bioinformatics. The candidates for this award are nominated from all over Indonesia which has been narrowed to 11 finalists. Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean is the 32nd recipient, and this is the first-time a private university received such an esteemed award.

In his award acceptance speech, Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean states the importance of partnership between academics, government, community, and business, which he coined as the ABCG. He actively promotes multidiscipline and multi-entity collaborations in embracing the 4.0 era. He also stresses the importance of resources sharing as resources especially in bioinformatics are scarce and costly.
