Strategic Partnership Between BINUS, K.H. Abdullah Muzni Foundation, and PT MMP for Snakehead Fish Farming
Bina Nusantara University (BINUS) has inaugurated a strategic partnership with K. H. Abdullah Muzni Foundation and PT Mega Medica Pharmaceuticals (MMP). On 25th July 2024, a new memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed by K. H. Ahmad Maftukhin, SH, MH representing K. H. Abdullah Muzni Foundation, Drs. Sutristo representing PT Mega Medica Pharmaceuticals, and Prof. Dr. Juneman Abraham, S.Psi., M.Si. representing BINUS. The collaboration aims to advance digital technology in snakehead fish farming, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and productivity in the fisheries sector as a community empowerment program initiative. Kyai Taufiq Hidayattuloh, the Chairman of Darul Muzani Islamic Boarding School, said that this collaboration is expected not only to benefit the Islamic boarding school but also to serve as a model of how education, technology, and industry can synergize to foster innovation and create new economic opportunities. The teachers, students, and workers from the Islamic Boarding School would also be involved in snakehead fish farming while learning the application of digital technology in fish farming.
This inauguration is also attended by the other organizations that are indirectly involved in the program. These include the Head of the National and Political Unity Agency of Central Java Province, the Head of Fisheries and Maritime Department of Cilacap Regency, the Head of Small and Medium Enterprise of Cilacap Regency, the Head of Sampang District, Member of the People’s Representative Council of Central Java Province, the National Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Association, the Regional Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Association of Central Java Province, the Branch Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Association of Cilacap Regency, the Branch Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama of Cilacap Regency, the Chairman of the Islamic Boarding School Communication Forum of Cilacap Regency, the Catfish Farming Community of Sampang District, 75 Headmasters of Islamic Boarding School in Cilacap Regency, and religious and community leaders over Cilacap Regency.
Mr. Maftuhin highlighted that this collaboration with PT MMP and BINUS University will create new economic opportunities for the school, students, and the surrounding community. On the other hand, Mr. Sutristo, Director of PT Mega Medica Pharmaceuticals, emphasizes the company’s commitment to advancing the fisheries sector through modern technology. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, a senior professor at BINUS University as well as Head of Bioinformatics & Data Science Research Center, expresses enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the university’s role in digitalizing snakehead fish farming. BINUS University will support the initiative through research, digital technology development, and training for the Islamic boarding school students and staff.
