Biweekly Meeting With GECCO
On Tuesday, 26 May 2020, Jakarta was still under limited social interaction law, which makes us have to work from our home. Even though the COVID-19 has limited our outdoor activities, we are still be able to conduct our research collaboration with our international partners. On this day, we had our biweekly meeting with other GECCO teams, discussing the smoking-related impact on colorectal cancer. Smoking-related is one study area that we have been studied for some time with our partner BioRealm. In the meeting, we shared what we have found in our previous study and also mentioned the SmokeScreen panel, a genotyping array that BioRealm is developing. We also proposed a bioinformatics pipeline system for GECCO team to use. Initially, this pipeline was aimed for our height – CRC research project with IARC, however, the bioinformatics pipeline can also be used by other teams in GECCO as well.
