Monitoring and Evaluation of BDSRC Research Collaborations with Hasanuddin University and Mitosis Laboratory

On Tuesday, 3 November 2026, the Bioinformatics and Data Science Research Center (BDSRC) conducted a monitoring and evaluation meeting to review its research collaborations with the Anatomical Pathology Study Program of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) and the Mitosis Laboratory under PT Mitosis Mulia Sejahtera. The collaborations focus on Pap smear analysis and mitosis research, respectively, with an emphasis on developing AI-based computer-aided image analysis approaches using computer vision to support the analysis and interpretation of pathological images. The activities were held in two sessions, with the morning session taking place at the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory of Hasanuddin University Hospital (RS Unhas), followed by an afternoon session at Mitosis Laboratory. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, Muhammad Rezki Rasyak, M.Biomed., and Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, M.Kom. from BINUS University, along with Prof. Dr. Upik Anderiani Miskad, dr. Amalia Mulia Utami, dr. Nuzulul Candra Handayani, dr. Jelita Inayah Sari, and dr. Andi Irhamnia Sakinah from the anatomical pathology team. Akram Irwan, S.K.M., Research Coordinator of BDSRC in Makassar, also participated in the meeting. Discussions focused on reviewing the progress and achievements of the collaborations throughout 2026, identifying challenges encountered during implementation, and establishing targets and expected outcomes for 2027. The evaluation aimed to strengthen ongoing research activities and advance the integration of AI and computer vision technologies into computer-aided pathological image analysis.
