Visiting Professor Programme Concludes with Collaboration Planning and Farewell Lunch

On Friday, 31 July 2026, BINUS University, through the Bioinformatics & Data Science Research Center (BDSRC), held a conclusion meeting as part of the Visiting Professor Programme with Debre Markos University, Ethiopia. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, Director of BDSRC, Zewdie Mossie Erukneh, Ph.D., Assistant Professor from Debre Markos University, together with researchers from BDSRC. The session was conducted to review the outcomes of the Visiting Professor Programme and discuss concrete follow-up actions to strengthen long-term collaboration between the two institutions.

During the meeting, participants reflected on the outcomes of the programme and discussed the respective contributions that BINUS University and Debre Markos University could offer to support future collaboration. The discussion explored opportunities for joint research, collaborative publications, international grant applications, and the development of sustainable research partnerships involving collaborators from Ethiopia, South Africa, and other international institutions. Participants also emphasized the importance of strengthening interdisciplinary research, supporting student research activities, and maintaining continuous communication to ensure the successful implementation of future collaborative initiatives.

Following the conclusion meeting, the BDSRC team held a farewell lunch, which coincided with the final day of Fitya Syarifa Mozar, Ph.D., as a Senior Researcher at BDSRC. The gathering was attended by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, Zewdie Mossie Erukneh, Ph.D., Dr. Arief Suriadi Budiman from Oregon Institute of Technology, USA, and researchers from BDSRC. During the gathering, the BDSRC team expressed their sincere appreciation for her dedication, professionalism, and valuable contributions to the Bioinformatics & Data Science Research Center (BDSRC) throughout her time at BINUS University. The team also wished her continued success in her future endeavors and expressed their hope that future collaboration in research, publications, and other academic activities would continue. The programme concluded in a warm and collegial atmosphere, reflecting the strong professional relationships built throughout the Visiting Professor Programme and the shared commitment to advancing future academic collaboration between BINUS University and its international partners.
