Advancing Pathology Study: Research Collaboration with Mitosis Laboratory

On August 5, 2025, BDSRC establishes a four-year research collaboration with Mitosis Laboratory, the first private anatomy pathology laboratory in East Indonesia, focusing on molecular pathology. The research collaboration revolves around histopathology image analysis to detect and count mitosis in cells, specifically in breast cancer. Detecting and counting mitotic cells is a rigorous process for pathologist, and the availability of AI technology is a valuable tool to save their time.

As a starting point for collaboration realization, Prof. Dr. Upik Anderiani Miskad signs the research collaboration memorandum of agreement (MoA) as the President Commissioner of Mitosis Laboratory, while BDSRC is represented by Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean as the Head of BDSRC. After the MoA signing, both parties engage in brainstorming sessions to standardize data annotation pipeline. dr. Amalia Mulia Utami, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mitosis Laboratory, also attended the MoA signing event and participated in the subsequent discussion.
