Visiting Professor Day 3: Strengthening Global Research Ties through Nanostructure Engineering Seminar

On the third day of the Visiting Professor program, the knowledge exchange between BDSRC, Trisakti University, and Arizona State University (ASU) continues through a seminar in nanostructure engineering in microgravity for drug delivery. Many people attend the event: Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean and BDSRC team, Prof. Dr. Kadarsah Suryadi as Trisakti University Rector, Dr. Muhammad Burhannudinnur as Vice Rector of Academic, Prof. Dr. Tri Erri Astoeti as Vice Rector of Planning and Development, Dr. Amalia Zuhra as Head of International Affairs, Dr. Octarina Willy as Head of Excellence Research in Trisakti University Institute for Research and Communities Services,  Dr. Monica Dwi Hartanti as Trisakti University Head of Biomolecular Laboratory, Dr. Endang Djuana as Trisakti University Head of Center for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology (CAPTIVATE), Dr. Arief Suriadi Budiman as Mechanical Engineering Associate Professor from Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), and Prof. Dr. Derrick Speaks as Assistant Teaching Professor from Arizona State University School for Engineering of Matter. Prof. Dr. Kadarsah Suryadi opens the seminar by emphasizing the importance of nanostructure as a cutting-edge technology. Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, who gives an opening remark states the importance of collaboration in advancing research output. Prof. Dr. Tri Erri Astoeti, in her opening speech afterward, could not agree more with Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean’s statement. After the opening remarks, Trisakti University signs an Memorandum of Understanding  (MoU) with ASU for research collaboration in many fields, including artificial intelligence. Dr. Burhannudinnur represents Trisakti University in signing the MoA, while Prof. Speaks represents ASU. The event then continues with an insightful seminar from Prof. Speaks on semiconductor defect engineering for drug delivery applications. Dr. Monica has an honor to moderate the presentation. Before Prof. Speaks presentation, Dr. Fitya Syarifa Mozar, a senior researcher from BDSRC, gives an introductory presentation of calcium phosphate as a vector for drug delivery. The seminar successfully attracts audience interest, as many audiences ask questions after both presenter’s dissemination.

After lunch, a discussion takes place between BDSRC and the Trisakti University Faculty of Industrial Engineering leaders. Prof. Dr. Rianti Dewi Selamet as the Dean of Trisakti University Faculty of Industrial Engineering opens the discussion. Dr. Ahmad Zudhi as the Vice Dean moderates the discussion that gravitates around AI potential research collaboration. BDSRC promotes the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute Ambassador Workshop to empower the Industrial Engineering faculty members before diving deeper into AI proof of concept (PoC). The leaders warmly welcome BDSRC’s suggestion and plan to sign an MoA with BDSRC in the near future.
