UNDANA and BINUS University Joint Research on Dry Land Data Processing

On 17th September 2024, following up on the importance of collaboration, BDSRC establishes another research collaboration. This time, the partnership is with Nusa Cendana University, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. This collaboration’s theme revolves around AI for dryland, which is common in Kupang where Nusa Cendana University resides. Realization of this partnership started by the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the two parties at Nusa Cendana University. In this event, BDSRC is represented by Andrea Stevens Karnyoto, Ph.D as the BDSRC Senior Researcher, while the Nusa Cendana university side are represented by Yefry C. Adoe, SE as the Head of Nusa Cendana University Cooperation Bureau, Dr. Dra. Maria Agustina Kleden, M.Sc as the Vice Dean of Nusa Cendana University Faculty of Science and Engineering, Meiton Boru, ST., M.Kom, as the Coordinator of Nusa Cendana University Computer Science Department, and Karolina K. H. Manggol, S.KM., MPA as Partnership Sub-coordinator.

After the MoA signing, a discussion related to dryland data processing takes place. One might think that dryland data processing is related to remote sensing, but in this collaboration, it is not limited to it. The AI research collaboration also includes varieties of dryland, such as plants and animals, that can be utilized for further AI dryland research. The event concluded positively, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to maintain open communication channels and ensuring that the objectives outlined in the MoA will be effectively pursued. This collaboration is expected to yield significant contributions to science and technology, sparking optimism and hope for the future of academic research and its impact on society.
