BDSRC Extends New Research Collaborations in Makassar

During the third week of May 2024, Bioinformatics Data Science and Research Center (BDSRC) participated in a series of collaboration meetings with research partners in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean attended the meetings, which took place from May 12 to May 17.

In the meeting with the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FIKP) Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS), discussions centered around the project to cultivate snakehead fish with farming communities in Soppeng. Key persons in this project included Prof. dr. Irawan Yusuf, Ph.D, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Djawad, M App.Sc., Prof. Dr. Ir. Zainuddin, M.Si., from UNHAS, and Drs. Sutristo from PT Mega Medica Pharmaceuticals.

Another key agenda item was the planning of a colorectal cancer (CRC) research partnership between the Faculty of Medicine at UNHAS, Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN), and BINUS. The discussion was led by Prof. dr. Upik Anderiani Miskad, Ph.D., Sp.PA(K), coordinator of CRC research at UNHAS.

Further expanding research initiatives, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNHAS has held a meeting to broaden the scope of collaborative research efforts between universities. Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean engaged with Prof. dr. Muh. Nasrum Massi, Ph.D., Sp.MK, Head of LPPM, and Dr. Siti Halimah Larekeng, S.P., M.P., Head of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity Research Center.

Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean was also invited to deliver a seminar on research methodology as a guest professor at UNHAS Department of Anatomical Pathology. His seminar has provided valuable insights and advanced methodological approaches to the attending students and doctors.
