DNAku Soft Launching

We proudly announce that our research partner, Genetics Indonesia (GI), has recently soft-launched their brand new service called DNAku on Thursday, August 15th, 2019. Officially, it will be available for public on the August 17th, 2019,  which coincides with the 74th Indonesia Independence Day.   DNAku is the first Direct-to-Customer (DTC) Genetics Testing in Indonesia. It is focused more on genetics screening for wellness rather than for disease risk. There are four modules offered in DNAku: (1) Health, (2) Nutrition, (3) Sport, and (4) Skin. One more module for Ancestry estimation will be offered soon. They use Illumina genotyping technology with Asian Screening Array which designed specifically for Asian population.

For the last six month, we have been involved in this launching campaign by providing them continuous support for their backend development. Apart from this technical collaboration, we are also very happy to initiate joint research with GI to study the genetic risk factor for Breast Cancer cases in the Indonesian population. We also commit to working together with GI to build an AI-ready database, so it will give more insightful recommendation for the users. Hopefully, in the future, it would become the national genetics data source for Indonesia which can be utilized for research purposes. To carry out our upcoming bioinformatics research, such as multi-sites colorectal cancer genetics research, genetics-based personalized coffee, snakehead fish genetics association study, and coffee genetics association study, we will rely on the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology possessed by GI as our main biomolecular lab partner.
