Expanding Research Collaboration with Hasanuddin University
BDSRC team visited Hasanuddin University to expand our research collaboration with Mathematics and Life Science Faculty, Public Health Faculty, and Medical Faculty. On the 22nd of May 2017, BINUS University Visiting Professor from Clemson University, Prof. Dr. Christopher McMahan, conducted a seminar entitled “A Bayesian Hierarchical Mixed Model for Identifying Significant Polygenic Effects while Controlling for Confounding and Repeated Measures” attended by Math-Stat students. On the 24th of May 2017, a seminar entitled “Forecasting various companion vector-borne diseases within the conterminous United States” was held by Prof. Dr. Christopher McMahan and attended by Public Health students.
Each event was moderated by Dr. Bens Pardamean and followed by a discussion led by Dr. James Baurley. Additionally, a colorectal cancer research discussion was held at Medical Faculty attended by Prof. Dr. George Mathew and Dr. Ivet Suriapranata from Mochtar Riady Institute of Nanotechnology (MRIN), Prof. Dr. Irawan Yusuf, dr. Upik Miskad, and dr. Ronald Lusikooy from Medical Faculty, Hasanuddin University.
