Online Learning of Cervical Cancer Early Detection for Health Cadre and Medical Personnel

Cervical cancer is one of the most important cause of death among women in Indonesia. In 2005, with the establishment of the Direktorat Penyakit Tidak Menular (Directorate of Communicable Diseases), Indonesia has embarked on a program of cancer prevention with priority for cervical cancer. Prevention activities through the management of cancer according to the mandate of the Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (National Medium Term Development Plan) or RPJMN 2005-2009 is the prevention and control of risk factors.

Prevention and control of risk factors is the primary and most important prevention because the effort is not costly when compared with treatment efforts. Lack of knowledge of cervical cancer will be an obstacle to this, so we need a quick way and did not cost much for the dissemination of information on the early detection of this disease. The use of online learning services will impact necessary to lower the cost significantly. This study aimed to establish a distance learning system that gives early disease detection material for laymen and health workers in peripheral designed to be sustainable so that it can be a self-contained system with the establishment of community for regular updating.
