Coffee Science Research Discussion

Mr. Hendarto Setyobudi, a world-class coffee expert from Bali, had a meeting with all members of AI R&D Center & BDSRC. The agenda is to brainstorm research in coffee science. The meeting also attended by Mr. Harsa Wardhana of Instiper AIRICA, Senior Lecturer Mr. Wikaria Gazali, Vice Rector Prof. Tirta Mursitama and Mr. hendarto’s wife, Mrs. Fitri, whose performed coffee brewing techniques during the meeting.

Caffeine metabolism-related genes affecting our body in different way. Many people suffer various inconvenient reactions while consuming coffee, and a research is necessary to discover personalized recipe for everyone by performing genetic research for both human and coffee.

The meeting concludes that a research that collaborating AI, BioInformatics, and coffee science, could deliver a breakthrough in making a joyful yet scientific way when everyone consuming a cup of coffee. In near time, AI R&D Center and BDSRC will focus on building an AI model to classify coffee plant disease named Hemileia Vastatrix, based on its leaf condition. This research will lead us to the adoption of precision farming in coffee Industry.
