TANGERANG \u2013 The Tangerang City Government through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) is holding the “Tangerang Collaborative Innovation and Development (TKIP) 2023” activity. This activity was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Novotel Hotel Tangerang on 22-23 November 2023. This activity was packaged into two events, a general seminar and an innovation exhibition. The Food Biotechnology Research Center (FBRC) participated in the innovation exhibition as one of Bina Nusantara University’s representatives. On this occasion, FBRC introduced the innovation of rodent tuber and TORPEDO banana to the general public and the government. The FBRC exhibition was directly attended by the Head of the Research Center, Dr. Nesti F. Sianipar, SP., M.Sc. She explained the innovations produced during rodent tuber research, including the progress of filing a patent for a functional drink made from rodent tuber extract, Tyherbs, which can reduce cancer risk. Apart from that, TORPEDO bananas, the result of biotechnology innovation, were also introduced to exhibition visitors.<\/p>\n

Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Tangerang City, H. Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah, B.Sc., M.Kes. and Drs. H. Sachrudin, who was present at the activity, was interested in rodent tuber, especially Tyherbs because it contains anticancer compounds. To make research innovations visible to the public, FBRC hopes to collaborate with the government to produce and disseminate research innovation results. Apart from that, the Chairperson of the Tangerang City TP PKK, Mrs. Aini Suci Wismansyah, also provided suggestions and directions. This was to develop the results of this innovation into Tyherbs for industry or UMKM in Tangerang City. FBRC gave a souvenir to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Tangerang as a way of concluding their visit with the Tangerang City Government. In collaboration with the Tangerang City Government, FBRC and TKIP 2023 activities will improve innovation results within the educational and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n
