The Food Biotechnology Research Center recently conducted an academic visit to the University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan, as part of its efforts to strengthen international research collaboration and academic partnerships in the field of biotechnology.<\/p>\n

The visit included discussions with Yonathan Asikin, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology, University of the Ryukyus. The meeting served as an important platform to explore collaborative opportunities in food biotechnology, functional food development, and the utilization of bioactive compounds from local biological resources.<\/p>\n

One of the outcomes of this collaboration is the opportunity for undergraduate students to gain international research experience through laboratory internships at the University of the Ryukyus. As part of this initiative, a Bachelor\u2019s degree student from the Food Biotechnology Research Center is currently undertaking a research internship in Associate Professor Asikin\u2019s laboratory. The internship provides valuable exposure to advanced research techniques, laboratory practices, and international academic environments, while contributing to ongoing research activities.<\/p>\n

The visit and collaborative discussions were also accompanied by Dwiyantari Widyaningrum, Head of the Biotechnology Department at BINUS University. Her participation further reinforced the commitment of both institutions to fostering international partnerships that support student development, research excellence, and academic exchange.<\/p>\n

Through this collaboration, the Food Biotechnology Research Center aims to strengthen global research networks, facilitate knowledge sharing, and create opportunities for students and researchers to engage in impactful scientific research. The partnership reflects a shared vision of advancing biotechnology innovation through international cooperation and capacity building.<\/p>\n

The Food Biotechnology Research Center looks forward to expanding future collaborative activities with the University of the Ryukyus, including joint research projects, student exchanges, scientific publications, and other initiatives that contribute to the advancement of biotechnology research on a global scale.<\/p>\n
