On Tuesday, 29 September 2026, the AI Research and Development Center (AIRDC) successfully conducted the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) Workshop at BINUS University @Malang. The workshop attracted 90 students from various majors who were interested in developing their knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning. The event commenced with opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Bens Pardamean, Director of BDSRC, who encouraged students to engage in research activities from the early stages of their academic journey. He emphasized that early involvement in research would help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the competencies needed to become future digital talents.<\/p>\n
Organized in collaboration with the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI), the workshop delivered the Fundamentals of Deep Learning training course. The workshop was conducted by Ir. Kuncahyo Setyo Nugroho, S.Kom., M.Kom., a certified NVIDIA DLI Instructor, with support from Alyssa Imani, S.Kom., S.Mat., as Teaching Assistant. Through hands-on learning activities, participants were introduced to the fundamental concepts of neural networks and deep learning workflows. The workshop specifically provided practical training in developing computer vision applications using deep learning, including training and evaluating image classification models to solve real-world visual recognition tasks.<\/p>\n
The workshop concluded with interactive discussions and practical sessions that enabled participants to strengthen their understanding of deep learning and computer vision applications. The successful implementation of this program reflects AIRDC\u2019s continued commitment to advancing AI education and providing students with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills in artificial intelligence and data science.<\/p>\n
